As the voice and leading catalyst of shareholder activism, MSWG aims to be a credible and sustainable organisation of choice and trust for minority shareholders to facilitate, shape, oversee and monitor intelligent insights on corporate governance issues that concern all the stakeholders. MSWG also provides consulting, proxy & advisory services and commentaries that encourage participation and dialogue in the shareholders’ meetings and support minority shareholders in raising corporate governance issues of concern to directors and management of public listed companies.

MSWG aims to serve its members’ as well as the public interest.

Working with other organizations: MSWG is open to joining forces with various institutions, such as universities, and other organizations, such as professional organizations and grass-root shareholder groups, on research or events that advance the cause of corporate governance and the greater respect of minority shareholder rights in Malaysia.

We also welcome links and co-operation with international public and private organizations, such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), promoting open and constructive discussions on good corporate governance in Asia and the rest of the world.

Public inquiries: From time to time, MSWG does receive inquiries and complaints from the public on market practices and the treatment of minority shareholders in Malaysia. Simple inquiries as to where certain information may be located can usually be handled by telephone or via e-mail. However, where particular facts are alleged, we will only consider an inquiry as having made to MSWG if it is made in writing (in English or in Bahasa Melayu) and the copy of the inquiry received by us is signed and identifies the name(s) and contact details of the author(s) of the inquiry. It should be noted that some inquiries may be beyond our resources, may need to be redirected to the Securities Commission, Bursa Malaysia or enforcement agencies for action, or may not fall within our public mandate. Confidentiality policy: Unless otherwise agreed, it is our policy to treat all inquiries and related correspondence as confidential.
