Monitoring Services
As part of its Monitoring Services, MSWG has purchased shares in 233 public listed companies (PLCs) on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad to enable MSWG to participate actively as a registered shareholder to represent the retail shareholders’ interest. The criteria for the purchase of shares in the selected PLCs are as follows :-
- PLCs with issues raised by minority shareholders;
- PLCs subject to action by the regulatory authorities;
- Investee PLCs of the five Founding Members;
- PLCs having a wide impact on the stakeholders;
- PLCs of strategic National interest;
- Coverage of every sector;
- PLCs with various year-ends for better spread of work throughout the whole year; and
- PLCs with registered offices in different locations.
Our monitoring responsibilities include :
- Reviewing annual reports and company announcements
- Attending the company meetings, both AGM and EGM
- Raising shareholder concerns or seeking clarification from companies
- Follow-up monitoring, especially on poor performing companies
MSWG offers proxy advisory and proxy voting services under its monitoring services to the minority shareholders, both retail and institutional investors.
Proxy Advisory Services
MSWG offers proxy advisory services at a nominal fee to the minority shareholders, both retail and institutional shareholders. The advisory services include analysis and review of financial statements and disclosure information on corporate governance issues and advice on good corporate governance practices as recommended under the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance.
Proxy Voting Services
